Clippy

Clippy is the official linter of the Rust programming language. It comes with a large collection of lints which catch common mistakes and suggest simpler, faster, or more idiomatic code.

I am a member of the Clippy team, which designs and implements the Clippy linter.

Using Clippy

Clippy is distributed as a rustup component:

rustup component add clippy
cargo clippy

The list of lints documents each lint, along with its lint group and its configuration options.

Contributing

The development happens in the rust-lang/rust-clippy repository on GitHub, where you can report bugs, ask for new lints, or propose pull requests.
